Audible symphonies

What if symphonies are only listened to by those that can hear them? What if some aren’t able to balance up the various instruments in their mind, thus shutting them out of the enjoyment of the whole experience? The only reason music is popular is due to vocals, as most people are only able to identify with the lyrical with the music ‘literally’ in the background?
